Who We Are

Black History Legacy (blackhistorylegacy.com) is owned and operated by MJ Professional Solutions LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit or use the site, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

• Account information. If you create a teacher, student, or general account, we collect your email address, a password (stored in encrypted form), your role, and any display name you provide.
• Classroom information. Teachers may create classes and class codes. Students who join a class are linked to that class so a teacher can see their activity and progress.
• Content you submit. Lesson topics, quiz answers, uploaded files, contact messages, and anything else you type or upload.
• Usage information. Counts of AI generations used each month, pages viewed, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and error logs.
• Payment information. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and billing email. We never see or store your full card number.

How We Use Information

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To generate lesson plans, worksheets, and quizzes you request.
• To count monthly AI usage against your plan limit.
• To process subscriptions and send billing or account notices.
• To improve the site, fix problems, and prevent abuse.
• To respond to your questions and support requests.

We do not sell your personal information.

Service Providers

We rely on trusted third parties that process limited data on our behalf: our hosting and database provider (for accounts, content, and file storage), our AI provider (to generate educational material from the topics you submit), and Stripe (for payments). Each is bound to use the data only to provide their service to us.

Children's Privacy

Student accounts may be used by children under a teacher's or parent's supervision. We ask for the minimum information needed — an email address and display name — and we do not use student data for advertising or profiling. If you are a parent, guardian, or school and want a child's account and data deleted, contact us and we will remove it promptly. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without school or parental involvement.

Advertising

The site may display a small sponsor banner. These banners are placed directly by us and do not use behavioral tracking cookies. If we ever add an ad network that does, we will update this policy first.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and browser storage that are necessary for the site to work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering preferences. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, but some features (like signing in) will stop working.

Data Retention

We keep account and classroom data while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except records we must keep for tax, accounting, or legal reasons.

Your Rights and Choices

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete your information.
• Cancel your subscription at any time from your account or billing portal.
• Unsubscribe from non-essential emails.

Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls, and row-level database security to protect your data. No online service can promise perfect security, but we work to keep your information safe and will notify affected users if a breach occurs.
